Teaching writing algorithms requires specific expertise of the educator.

Algorithm can be defined as a process or set of rules to be followed in calculations or other problem-solving operations, especially by a computer.

“Algorithms are instructions for solving a problem or completing a task. Recipes are algorithms, as are math equations. Computer code is algorithmic. The internet runs on algorithms and all online searching is accomplished through them.” (Rainie&Anderson 2017)

“When well-designed, algorithms amplify human abilities, but they must be comprehensible, predictable and controllable. This means they must be designed to be transparent so that users can understand the impacts of their use and they must be subject to continuing evaluation so that critics can assess bias and errors. Every system needs a responsible contact person/organization that maintains/updates the algorithm and a social structure so that the community of users can discuss their experiences.” (Rainie&Anderson 2017)
