Activity completion is a feature in a learning management system that allows teachers to set completion criteria in a specific activity’s settings for that and other activities. The completion requirement might be viewing, receiving a certain score or some kind of interaction with that activity. It is also possible that students mark the activity as completed, with this the students are invited to be responsible for their learning process.
By being able to see the activities that are completed or to mark the activities completed, the students are having a certain control over the learning progress. 
If the activity completion is set to the whole block of activities the students are experiencing the self-regulated learning process.
