The most common data security risks educators and learners encounter are:
- Phishing
- Weak or re-used passwords
- Malicious web pages
- Physical data security
- General awareness of GDPR and data protection regulations
An educator should recognize and use institutional platforms which are typically more secure than open / social media platforms. If using other external platforms, the educator should clearly indicate this to learners and be aware of potential data security issues.
