Camera on for XX number of students

Area

Level

Students are sometimes reluctant to open their cameras during online sessions. Reasons for this may by lacking line capacity, shyness, unpreparedness or anything similar.

At the same time, it is frustrating for educators to speak to a black screen and completely lack vision-based human interaction.

One good practice is to agree with students that in each session certain number of students will keep their cameras on. Students can be made to agree among themselves in the chat or in other channels (e.g. in their team meetings beforehand), which ones are in turn to be visibly present in a given online session.

While speaking, cameras must be on.
