The educator should be aware of different web browser functionalities. In order to find the best web browser for one’s device, one needs to consider the privacy, speed or compatibility issues of various browsers.

Some browsers demand more of the system resources, while others are relatively lightweight when it comes to impacting system memory. Selecting a web browser to use for the long term is a very personal thing, and will depend on one’s individual browsing security, privacy and accessibility needs.

From a technical perspective it will also depend on what the computer is able to handle in terms of processing speed, and memory capacity. Furthermore, some programs may open and run better using a particular web browser.

The educator should inform students if some course functionalities or software are optimized for certain browsers.

There is a numerous amount of different web browsers (search by Google).
