The creation of OERs is grounded in the assumption that authors want to contribute to the development of open learning, by sharing their resources willingly and openly with a global community; thus, becoming community property. By creating resources in open format, potential users are invited to contribute to their refinement and continuous updating, within a specific area or cross-cutting different areas.
Teachers can use their own resources, or those co-created with colleagues, to develop OER-based lesson plans with Moodle. The structuring multimodal OERs according to a courses’ syllabus, as well as the chosen learning/teaching methodology, allow for teachers to meet different learning styles and the needs of heterogeneous groups of learners.
