Group-to-group assessment is very similar to peer-to-peer assessment and the assessment instruments to use can be similar. However, group-to-group assessment enhances richer discussions, encouraging groups to clarify and elaborate on perceptions as well as to defend points of view, to judge the other group’s accomplishment levels. Thus, this is a powerful tool to support the development and improvement of learners’ competences (subject competences; methodological competences; social competences; self-competences).
A special focus of group-to-group assessment may be the learners’ social transversal competences, such as, for example, teamwork, communication, and project management.
