Some students with learning difficulties und disabilities can struggle or be unable to learn the design patterns in the course. Providing some simple and conventional elements, icons and visual patterns can help them to distinguish important parts and structure of the content. It is therefore important when creating the course to have clear structure.

Here some tips:

  • Use headers, labels, and other posts in the course to help students know where the important content, activities, and other elements are.
  • Use a familiar design
  • Use a consistent visual design
  • Make the structure of the course simple and clear
  • Make each step clear: what to do next
