Rubrics

Level

Rubrics are based on the definition of learning criteria and indicators and can be used by learners to regulate their learning, as well as by teachers to adjust their teaching strategies to the learners’ needs, thus making teaching more personalised.

Assessment rubrics can be used for formative, diagnostic and summative purposes. They indicate the learning achievement level according to pre-defined learning outcomes and, therefore, should include the learning product(s) and process(es). They usually imply a compromise between the learner and content to be learned and can also be a means for the teacher to establish learning contracts with the learners.
