Self-assessment

Area

Level

The learners’ self-assessment can provide valuable insight into their true understanding of content, as well as to their performance in a certain activity. The learners’ self-assessment can help the educator to identify gaps that still need to be improved or worked further. By encouraging learners to analyse their own learning process, teachers help them to become increasingly aware of their learning progress; thus, promoting the development of self-evaluation competences (which is key for lifelong learning).

The learners can do their self-assessment using online checklists, rubrics and/or by answering open questions to evaluate/rate their self-perceived performance.
