Students as discussion facilitators

This method is close to collaborative learning. One team or an individual student is assigned to moderate the discussion of a group or a set of groups. For instance, if there are x amount of themes to be discussed the moderator(s) facilitates, takes notes, drafts a summary and reports the core outcomes of the discussions to the rest of the class. The learner gets experience as a facilitator and credits for the work.

The discussions can be realised in a digital setting’s break out rooms for instance, if there are several simultaneously ongoing group discussions.
